In 2002, at just 18 years old, Matt made the bold move from New Zealand to Melbourne in search of a fresh start and new opportunities. Leaving behind the familiar, he was driven by a strong work ethic and a desire to build something meaningful from the ground up. Melbourne quickly became home, and what started as a leap of faith turned into a lifelong journey of hard work, growth, and dedication. Laborer for Fenceable Fencing

When Matt first arrived in Melbourne, he landed his very first fencing laboring job with Fenceable Fencing. It was a hands-on introduction to the industry, where he quickly learned the ropes of fence installation and site preparation. This entry-level role gave him valuable practical experience, building his skills from the ground up and fueling his passion for fencing. Working hard every day, Matt’s dedication and eagerness to learn set the foundation for a successful career—one that has now spanned over two decades.

Sub-Contracting

Just two years after starting as a fencing laborer with Fenceable Fencing, Matt took the next big step in his career by beginning to subcontract fence building jobs. This new role allowed him to take more responsibility and showcase his growing expertise in fence construction. As a subcontractor, Matt developed a deeper understanding of project management, customer needs, and quality craftsmanship. This experience was crucial in building his confidence and reputation, setting the stage for him to eventually run his own successful fencing business.

First Fencing Business

In 2006, after gaining valuable experience subcontracting fence building jobs, Matt decided to take a leap and start his own fencing business. Moving away from subcontracting, he was ready to build something truly his own—focused on delivering high-quality workmanship and personalized service. With a strong work ethic and over four years of industry experience, Matt laid the foundation for a trusted local fencing company that puts customer satisfaction first. This bold move marked the beginning of a new chapter, where his passion for fencing and commitment to excellence could fully shine.
